Longing 05:05
Away from everything that has been I feel the longing I know I have to keep this in mind Today the shelter has lost its fences But I won't hold on the feeling that I have Away from everything that has been I feel the longing A promise made to last in time Away, you gonna go away from me Just one step away… Still got so many things to say But will it matter when your feelings tell you otherwise Sometimes I blame it upon yourself But then I ask you, do you feel anything at all? Away from everything that has been I feel the longing A promise made to last in time Away you gonna go away from me Will you chase the past will you crawl Will you find the same Don’t you wait for me take your step away Just one step away Soaring those eyes are glittering mirror of your past None of your tricks I forgot but loved Drumming those leaves under a dripping rain Leaving nothing but the will to go on A friend, a lover, a silhouette from today Comforting memories will change But no no no no no no way I let the pain to fill the day No no no no no no way I lose on you another day
2.
Sometimes 06:53
Drink from your first love Sprouting dancing clovers you wear around your neck The city is just behind Let's keep it waiting for today There is nothing to understand Will last until your solitude will win Tingling thing Tingling your life when you ask what's next Sometimes we even cry Falling off the petals we're leaning on Squeeze yourself between an elevator crowded With no sympathy for you None of them It's you, but you know Proud of patching the past with today Tingling thing Tingling your life when you ask what's next Sometimes we even cry Falling off the petals we're leaning on Holding her tight Shrouding the flight What will you hide But hold her tight Hold her tight Sometimes we even cry Falling off the petals we're leaning on
3.
Try 05:06
Try even if you cry Give that letter you wrote for her Try when you lose the why Keep the pieces together and try Try when your mother dries The sweat from her face when she brought you up Bring me where the box of dreams are stored Bring me where the clocks are still An orphan voice to bribe the law A dimming hope becoming a glow Open it now open it now Don’t keep for tomorrow... Under the piece of what you believed it's vanished your guilt But now you know tight in your shirt it's you you’re looking in the mirror Of all the things that you dream and desire there is only so much you take with you With you Bring me where the box of dreams are stored Bring me where the giant walks One on one the hands will crown A changing color a rolling stone Open it now open it now But don’t keep for tomorrow… Laugh like a kid in that window from the past Not only voices but all the colors you know Stay there in between a circle of hands Run before your shadow leave it behind When nothing can reach you Can you say you're free Can you say you're free Time will flow and cause one child to grow old And feel those fears, one dream calls no fears Ah, feel me, here to go
4.
An open course to place a bet on a wild horse Feeding human cell capsules to feel the moon touch Aristocracy melting in a silicon bath In a place where you're never going in hope Hope on your day dream Your mind is leaking Your fear is grinding Proving you are alive A mother born to keep the peace of a screaming riot And no one knows to hold the guilt of every age Molding ferries lined to conquer north and south Lore is dark before the strike of an infant growl Grind your teeth to scare the children of your neighbor Seep the drop of your destiny from labor An errant on the run Eastern sun bathe my frightened bones A lot like love A lot like love Eastern sun bathe my frightened bones A lot like love A lot like love A mocking bird tries the shoulder of the new elect A calling pole will show you how to fetch And grind your teeth to scare the children of your neighbor Seep the drops of your destiny from labor An errant on the run Your mind is leaking Your fear is grinding Proving you are alive Of all the domes we saw in life So many will collapse And all it's left are only stones Eastern sun bathe my frightened bones A lot like love A lot like love Eastern sun bathe my frightened bones A lot like love A lot like love I believe in E.T. Martian U.F.O. In a crop circle I want to find The way home

about

Days After The Storm sprang to life in 2008 after a chance meeting in an Amsterdam park between Italian vocalist Frank Valchiria and Portuguese guitar/bass-player Vasco Asturiano. They soon realised that the connection they shared when jamming was something that they couldn't let go of - Valchiria's unique and powerful voice and exquisite lyrics blending perfectly with the deep, creative tones of Asturiano's guitars.

The line up was completed when Dutch guitarists Frank Wolff and Pytrik Rot and drummer Henning Brand joined the circle, adding a fresh and exciting undercurrent to the music.

With four different nationalities in the band, and a multitude of influences from jazz to rock to folk, Days After The Storm grasps inspiration from as many sources as it can, crosses as many musical boundaries as possible and refuses to be labelled as 'just another band'.

The Way Home is the debut EP from the band, produced in 2010.
Recorded at Redline studios, Amsterdam, NL.
